Rain caused havoc in Pakistan’s Punjab province, 24 killed and more than 150 people injured

Lahore: Heavy rains in many areas of Pakistan have caused havoc. Normal life has been badly affected due to rain. Talk about the Punjab province of Pakistan, at least 24 people have died in the rain -related incidents in the last 24 hours here. More than 150 people have also been injured here due to heavy rains. So far, the total toll in Pakistan has increased to 140 due to rain. An official has given information about this on Wednesday.
Storm in Lahore
Pakistani officials said that in Lahore and many other districts of Punjab, it rained intermittently overnight and this process is expected to continue till Thursday. A spokesman for Punjab’s emergency service ‘Rescue 1122’ said, “12 people died in three incidents of roof collapses due to night storm in Lahore. These include five members of the same family living in Thokar Niaz Baig area of the city.

The first monsoon rains were received on 26 June
A spokesperson for emergency service said that three people have died in Faisalabad, while a woman and two children have died in Pakpattan. One person has died due to roof falling in Sheikhpura, Bhakkar, Bahawalnagar and Shahkot, while two teenagers have died in Okara. Earlier on Tuesday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had monitored the damage related to rain and said that since June 26, a total of 116 people have died in such incidents. The country received the first monsoon rainfall on 26 June.
CM Maryam Nawaz expressed grief
According to the NDMA, out of 116 deaths, 44 people died in Punjab, 37 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18 Sindh, 16 Balochistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK). Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab province, expressed grief over the death of people in rain -related incidents and directed the officials to conduct rescue and relief operations.
