Peshawar: Heavy rains, floods and landslides in Pakistan have caused havoc. The situation is such that people are dying daily here. The most northwest Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been affected by the rain. In some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at least 17 people, including 3 children, have died due to torrential rains and thunderstorms over the last 24 hours. 50 other people have also been injured. Officials have given information about this.
How many people have died so far
Officials said these deaths in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have occurred at a time when Pakistan is struggling with the initial monsoon from 26 June to 20 August, killing more than 788 people and 1,018 injured till Saturday. The rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has caused the most havoc.
Heavy rains in Dera Ismail Khan
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesman Bilal Faizi said that Dera Ismail Khan district and surrounding areas received heavy rains with strong winds on Sunday. During this period, 13 people died and more than 50 people were injured in various incidents related to rain. Faizi said that the injured have been admitted to 2 different hospitals, many of which were discharged after treatment.

Electricity supply disrupted
A spokesperson for ‘Rescue 1122’ said that in another incident, 3 children died after a roof collapsed in the ground area of the ground in the lower Dir district. One person died after falling a roof of a house due to torrential rains in Takhtbhai area of Mardan district. Trees were uprooted due to the storm and the power lines fell, which disrupted the power supply in many areas of Dera Ismail Khan.
CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed grief
Heavy rains have been reported in other districts including Peshawar, Mardan, North and South Waziristan, while continuous rains in Palandri have increased the possibility of landslides. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed grief over the loss of life and property and directed the officials to provide immediate relief and medical care. (Language)
