At a recent event, filmmaker Raj Kumar Hirani said that he is juggling multiple projects related to the story of Munna Bhai.
The eagerly awaited third installment of the Munna Bhai MBBS franchise has been the talk of the town for quite some time now, with lead actors Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi often expressing their excitement to see their beloved characters again. Now, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has increased the excitement by revealing that making Munna Bhai 3 is his top priority.
The filmmaker spoke about the franchise at the unveiling of the screens in Mumbai.
Rajkumar Hirani gave clarification
Speaking to the audience, Rajkumar said that he is juggling multiple projects related to Munna Bhai.
“I have five half-finished scripts of Munna Bhai. I spent six months on a script, got to interval, and it didn’t go beyond that. There is Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chale Base, Munna Bhai Chale America and many more,” said the filmmaker, who directed Dunky starring Shah Rukh Khan.
He said, “The most important factor is that the next installment should be better than the previous films. But now, I have a unique idea. Of course, over the course of 100 years of cinema, everything has been said. But yes, I am working on that idea.
The filmmaker also shared that making the third Munna Bhai film is his priority because he knows that if he doesn’t do it, “Sanju can come home and threaten me to make the next film”. Rajkumar told that Sanjay wants to do another Munna Bhai film.
He also said that he is ‘seriously’ considering moving on to the next Munna Bhai film.
