The meeting was postponed before
Earlier, in Bihar, the Rajya Sabha meeting was postponed fifteen minutes after the commencement of the Rajya Sabha meeting due to the uproar by the members of the opposition parties on various issues including special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar. Due to uproar in the upper house, zero hour and Question Hour could not be done even today. At the commencement of the meeting, Deputy Chairman Harivansh congratulated Divya Deshmukh for winning the FID Women’s Chess World Cup 2025 and said that he has made the country proud. After this, he placed the necessary documents on the floor of the House. Then the Deputy Chairman said that he has received 24 notices under Rule 267, in which the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, alleged discrimination against Bengali migrant workers in other states, have been demanded to discuss issues such as the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and arrest in Chhattisgarh.
Deputy Chairman said that these notices are not in line with the system earlier, so they cannot be accepted. Opposition members protested and started committing uproar when the notice was not accepted. He raised slogans like ‘Stop theft’. Harivansh appealed to the members to let the House run smoothly, so that MPs could raise their issues during the Zero Hour. But due to the uproar, he postponed the meeting till 2.0 pm.
