Rally suicidal blast in Balochistan national party, at least 14 people killed

Karachi: At least 14 people died after the conclusion of a public rally organized by Balochistan National Party (BNP) in Quetta city of Pakistan. 35 others were injured in this blast. This information has been given in the news of Pakistani media. According to the ‘The Express Tribune’ newspaper, the blast occurred near the Shahwani Stadium in Sariyab area after the conclusion of the rally organized on Tuesday night on the occasion of the fourth death anniversary of Sardar Ataullah Mangal.
According to the newspaper, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has confirmed those killed and injured in the incident. According to the report of ‘The Dawn’ newspaper, officials have described it as a suicide attack. According to police, the blast occurred about 15 minutes after the rally ended. The attacker allegedly exploded in his jacket laden with explosives in the parking area when people were leaving their homes after attending the rally.
BNP chief narrowly survived
According to ‘Don’ News, BNP chief Akhtar Mengal, who was leading the rally, did not get any injury, as the explosion occurred while he was leaving for the house. It said that Mahmud Khan Achkzai, head of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Asghar Khan Achkzai of Awami National Party and former National Party Senator Mir Kabir Muhammad Shai were also present at the rally, but he was not hurt. However, several party workers and supporters were injured, including Mir Ahmed Nawaz Baloch, former BNP member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), and Moses Jaan, Central Labor Secretary of the party. BNP chief Mangal confirmed in a post on social media that he was safe, but “he was deeply saddened by his workers’ death.”
14 people killed BNP workers
He claimed that 14 BNP workers lost their lives in the blast. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attack and called it “the cowardly act done by the enemies of humanity”. A special inquiry committee has been formed after the explosion and safety has been increased in and around Quetta. So far, no group has taken responsibility for the bomb blast. (Language)
