Why is Rambha Teej celebrated? (Importance)

Rambha Teej is named after Rambha, the most beautiful Apsara of heaven, which originated from the sea churning. It is believed that Apsara Rambha himself performed this fast so that he can get beauty, good luck and chiriyavan. The main objective of this fast is to bring happiness in marital life and strengthen the relationship between husband and wife.

Rambha Teej in 2025:

In the year 2025, the fast of Rambha Teej will be observed on Thursday, 29 May 2025.

• Tritiya Tithi Start: From 01:54 minutes on 28 May 2025.

• Tritiya Tithi ends: 29 May 2025 by 11:18 minutes.

• As per Udaya Tithi, the fast will be observed on 29 May.

Worship method:

Purity and reverence has special significance in the worship method of Rambha Teej:

1. Bathing and resolution in the morning: Get up in Brahma Muhurta on the day of Rambha Teej. Wear clean clothes, give priority to red, pink or green clothes. After this, take a pledge to fast that you are keeping this fast for your wish fulfillment.

2. Preparation of the place of worship: Clean the place of worship. Lay red or yellow clothes at a checkpoint.

3. Murthy installation: Install the idol or picture of Goddess Rambha or Mata Gauri (Goddess Parvati) and Lord Shiva. Lord Ganesha is worshiped first, so keep his idol too.

4. Sixteen makeup: Suhagin women make sixteen adornments on this day. In the puja, Goddess Rambha also offer sixteen adornments (such as bangles, sindoor, bindi, mehndi, kajal, aalata, perfume etc.).

5. Worship material:

– Water full of water

– Roli, Kumkum, Sindoor, Akshat

– Fresh red flowers

– Betel leaves, betel nuts, cloves, cardamom

– Seasonal fruit, mango

– Sweet or pudding enjoyment

– Incense, cow’s pure ghee for lamps

– Mango leaves and bilva patra for Shiva-Parvati

6. Worship method:

First of all, meditate on Lord Ganesha and worship him.

After this, call Goddess Rambha and Lord Shiva-Mata Parvati.

– Offer water, apply tilak, offer flowers and light incense lamps.

– Offer the ingredients of sixteen makeup.

– Offer bhog.

– Chant the mantras of Goddess Rambha. Some people chant the mantra ‘Rant Ram Rabha Rant Devi’ 108 times.

– Apply perfume or perfume yourself.

7. Fasting Katha Shravan: Listen or read the fast story of Rambha Teej at the end of worship.

8. Aarti: Perform the aarti of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Goddess Rambha.

9. Paran: Keep Nirjala or Falhari fast throughout the day. After worshiping at night, open the fast and take satvic food.
