Famous Malayalam rapper and song writer Hirandas Murali, who is famous worldwide known as Vedan. A female doctor has filed a serious allegation against him and filed a case of sexual abuse against him. A young doctor has filed a complaint against him and accused him of rape. The victim has said in her complaint that famous rapper Vedan made a physical relationship with her for a long time by making false promises of marriage. The police has started investigating the matter. On the other hand, there is a lot of controversy on social media about Hirandas.
Rape case against rapper Vedan
Police said on Thursday that a rape case has been registered against the famous Malayalam rapper Vedan on the complaint of a female doctor. The female doctor has alleged that she sexually harassed her on several occasions at various places in the state between 2021-2023. Also, a senior police officer also informed that an FIR was lodged against the rapper under Section 376 of the IPC against the rapper at Thrikkara police station late Wednesday night.
Many serious allegations were made against Vedan earlier
Rapper Vedan was arrested in a drug case in April this year and was then released on bail. Shortly thereafter, the forest department arrested him in connection with the teeth of a leopard from him and then released on bail. In addition, in May this year, a BJP leader filed a complaint against him, accusing him of defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promoting caste-based division through his music. Vedan’s difficulties increased further when hemp was recovered from his flat. The drug was being consumed at Kochi White Hill Police Station, the police arrived at around 10 am. Ganja was recovered during the search there. Vedan was in the same apartment when the investigation proceeded. At that time there were nine people in the group and the police arrested the rapper with six grams of hemp on Monday (April 28, 2025).

Vedan, a resident of Thrissur, is known for ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ rap video. After this he has sung a song for many films. Recently, he worked with music director Sushin Shyam for the promo song ‘Kuthanram’ of the hit film ‘Manjummel Boys’ which proved to be a hit.
