Rare Earth Elements Stores were found in Singrauli coal field, government told in Parliament
Giving an important information in Parliament on Monday, the government said that there are promising reserves of Rare Earth Elements found in Singrauli Coalfield in Madhya Pradesh. The promising reserves of Rare Earth Elements (REE) have been found at Singrauli Coalfield in Madhya Pradesh. This information was given by the Central Government in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. According to the news of PTI, the Minister of Coal and Mining G. Kishan Reddy said that Coal India Limited (CIL) has started research and development projects on REE found in waste of coal mines.
What are Rare Earth Elements
Rare Earth Elements are a type of metallic elements such as scandium, yatrium, etc. These elements are used in clean energy, electronics, electric vehicles and other advanced industrial techniques. Minerals will be extracted from local technology
The government said that local technology is being developed to remove critical minerals from the coal layers of North-Eastern Coalfield. It has two main goals-enriching minerals from non-coal layers by the ion-access resins technology by the non-coal layers and extracting metals from non-coal layers.
