Raunak will increase in Patna Zoo, Chimpanzi couple will come from Africa:
Patna: Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in the capital Patna will soon get two unique and special guests. A chimpanzee pair will be brought here from the dense forests of the Congo of Africa, which will increase both the biodiversity and attraction of Patna Zoo. Dr. Sunil Kumar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the state, gave information about this at an event organized on World Chimpanji Day on Monday.
Dr. Sunil Kumar said that work has been started on the process of bringing chimpanzees from Africa and soon the couple will see the audience of Patna. He said that Chimpanji is a creature of Africa origin and they have a good number of numbers in the forests of Congo. Their behavior, gesture and ability to use tools make them very close to humans. Their emotional understanding develops so much that they can also feel sensations like happiness, sorrow and sympathy.
The minister also informed that special attention is taken in Patna Zoo already existing Chimpanji couples and Subhadra. In winter, they are given blankets, which they themselves cover, which proves that chimpanzies are not only intelligent but also feel connected to their careful.
Karthik and Subhadra were brought from Nandan Kanan Zoological Park in Odisha in the year 2012. The minister looked closely and interacted with the employees who took care of them.
Several officials including Additional Chief Secretary of Forest and Climate Change Department Harjot Kaur Bamhara, PCCF Prabhat Kumar Gupta and Horticulture Director Hemant Patil were present in the program.
Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar further informed that in this monsoon season, a target has been set to plant 4 crore 90 lakh saplings under the Chief Minister Van Mahotsav. This campaign will be conducted with public participation, in which the general public will have to fulfill not only plantation, but also the responsibility of safety of plants. He said that when every person takes care of the plants planted by them, only then the green cover of the state will grow rapidly.
This new pair of chimpanzees in Patna Zoo will not only become a center of attraction for children and tourists, but will also prove to be an important initiative towards wildlife conservation.
