Real-time training of India’s cyber commandos will start in the forest, high-station mission

The country’s most unique cyber security training program is starting in Hyderabad from National Cyber Security Scholar Program i.e. NCSSP 2025, August 21. With this initiative, India is writing a new chapter under cyber security leadership. According to PTI news, this training program will trend the participants in circumstances like the forest, tent, and real crisis, except for the traditional class and screen. This program is not only another training camp, but, it is a major step towards changing landscape of cyber threats, changes in thinking and building a safe digital India.

Public and private sector giants will be together

According to the news, among the participants selected in this program, supported by CERT-in (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) and run by ISAC (Information sharing and Analysis Center), IAS and IPS officers, Cyber experts of major tech companies, officers of defense and intelligence agencies, Professors, IITSs like Defense and Intelligence Agencies, Professors, IITS like IITS, IITS will be included.

Cyber security training now in the forest

This training program will not be started in any conference room, but in a forest. Here the participants will put their tents themselves, cook themselves, communicate with analog equipment like HAM radio, will be completely cut off from the digital network. Ground and real training activities will include hardware hacking and IOT simulation, radio jamming and radio construction, lock picking and security perimeter infiltration, red vs blue team war-gaming, crisis reaction and leadership tests. Skills to survive in the forest will also be taught, such as burning fire, searching wild food, purifying water, etc.

Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-in, says that we are not waiting for cyber attacks, we are building a flexible India, with the network of professionals who are reliable and skilled in all fields. Dr. M.S. Vijayaraghavan, who is a famous name in the field of cyber policy, described the program as a reflection of the foresight of CERT-in. Hyderabad was specially selected for this training program, as Hyderabad has become a major cyber innovation hub of India today. Top R&D centers, startups and global technology companies are located here.

What after bootcamp?

After four days of forest training, by January 2026, participants will get workshops on weekly digital learning modules, power plants, airports and data centers, research projects and policy based simulations, cyber laws and diplomacy.
