Peshawar: The reconstruction work of the ancestral homes of Indian actor Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor -based Indian actor Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor started officially on Monday. Officials have given information about this. Archaeological Director Dr. Abdus Samad said that the project will be completed in two years and its estimated cost will be seven crore rupees.
Nawaz Sharif did big work
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released funds for the project. The project includes structural and aesthetic renovation of historical houses. The Provincial Archeology Department has planned to convert both structures into museums dedicated to the life and career of great actors. The then Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif declared these houses as a national heritage on 13 July 2014.
The purpose is to promote tourism
According to Dr. Samad, the main objective of this project is to promote heritage tourism by protecting the historical and cultural heritage of the province. “These projects will revolutionize the province’s tourism sector in collaboration with the World Bank,” said the provincial government tourism advisor Zahid Khan Shinwari.
Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were born in Pakistan
Dilip Kumar’s house is in Mohalla Khudadad of Khwani Bazar, the famous and historical story of Peshawar. Mohammad Yusuf Khan, popularly known as Dilip Kumar, was born on December 11, 1922 in this house in Pakistan. Dilip Kumar moved to Bombay (now Mumbai) with his family in 1930. When Dilip Kumar went to Pakistan in 1988, he also visited Peshawar and went to his old house and kissed his door and shared childhood memories with people. Kapoor Haveli is in Dilgran area of Peshawar. A generation of the Kapoor family who gave many superstars to Bollywood was born in this mansion. The mansion was built between 1918 and 1922. Raj Kapoor was also born in this mansion. After the partition of the country, his family came to India. (Language)
