According to the latest AMFI data, in FY 2025, the Equity Mutual Fund made a record investment of Rs 4.17 lakh crore. Domestic institutional investors continue to invest even in decline

Annual contribution to SIP increased by 45.24%
In FY 2025, there was a tremendous investment in SIP. During this period, the annual contribution to SIP increased by 45.24% to Rs 2.89 lakh crore. The boom with MTM Gains increased SIP Assets to Rs 13.35 lakh crore on an annual basis to Rs 13.35 lakh crore, making the total mutual funds 20.31% in the industry’s AUM. The new registered SIP accounts during the financial year increased to 6.80 crores in FY 2024 as compared to 4.28 crores.
27.17 percent increase in number of SIP accounts
The number of SIP accounts that contributes to 8.11 crores also increased rapidly by March 2025, showing an increase of 27.17% as compared to April 2024. The ratio of direct plans in the total SIP AUM has increased from 12% to 21% by March 2020 in the last 5 years. The ratio of SIP assets, which has been kept for more than 5 years by March 2025 as compared to March 2020, has increased considerably, indicating a change towards the long -term wealth creation strategy.
