The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in six states. A red alert has been issued for South Bengal, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Gujarat. These states will receive torrential rains in the next 24 hours. A red alert has been issued in Assam, Meghalaya due to the possibility of extreme heavy rains in the next two days.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall at different places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha i.e. today. Northeast India is expected to continue rain during the next 5 days.
