Relief to electricity consumers in Haryana, action will be taken against employees asking for telegram from consumer on new connection

Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij while instructing the officials said that in case of transformer failure, the department should ensure power supply within 2 hours in rural areas and 1 hour in urban areas.

He also instructed the officials to provide safety kits to the employees working on power lines. Vij was holding a review meeting with Energy Department officials here today.

Various technical steps should be taken with priority on reducing power line loss – Vij

The Energy Minister directed the officials to take appropriate steps to stop electricity theft. If a consumer is caught stealing electricity, strict action should be taken against him. Apart from this, various technical steps should be taken with priority to reduce power line losses.

Strict action will be taken against the concerned electricians who ask for electric wire from the consumer after installing a new electricity connection – Vij

He also directed that meter testing labs in the state should be approved by NABL. Apart from this, he said that strict action will be taken against the concerned electricity workers if they demand electricity wire from the consumer after installing a new electricity connection.

Vij said that the capacity of all the stations across the state which have high load should be increased. Apart from this, he also ordered to find out the load of the transformers and said that if the connection load is high then the transformer should be upgraded. He said that a plan should be prepared to provide government houses to the employees of the department.

People should be made aware to take forward PM Surya Ghar Yojana- Vij

Vij said that the Government of India has received the target of providing 1 lakh connections to Haryana under PM Surya Ghar Yojana. More than 7 thousand connections have been given in the state under PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

To further increase this, people will be made aware through various mediums. He has also been instructed to complete this target by March 31, 2025.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Energy Department Mr. Apoorva Kumar Singh, Managing Director of Haryana Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited Mr. Mohammed Shine, Managing Director of Haryana Vidyut Prasar Nigam Limited Dr. Amit Kumar Agarwal, Managing Director of South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited Mr. P. C. Meena, Managing Director of North Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited, Mr. Saket Kumar and other officials of the department were present.
