Renault broke silence on E20 fuel, customers will not suffer loss
Passenger vehicle manufacturer Renault India, dismissing the possibility of damage from the use of E20 fuel in favorable vehicles E10 (10 percent ethanol mixture in petrol), told the customers that these vehicles have been tested for E20 fuel and therefore there is nothing to worry.
Renault India said in a statement that the recent questions raised regarding the use of E20 fuel in tested and certified vehicles for E10 have felt the need for clarification on the basis of customers’ concerns. He said that according to the then prevalent criteria, E-10 was considered as ‘declared fuel’ for the type approval of the said Renault Tribe (Model 2022) and the purposes of production tests.

Indian Oil Corporation conducted a thorough test
To answer a specific question related to E10 -friendly cars, the Indian Oil Corporation and the Indian Vehicle Research Association (AIAI) jointly tested intensive testing, including various fuel combinations.
During the test, the use of E20 fuel in certified vehicles for E10 also included. The draft report of this study believed that currently road vehicles are favorable to E20 and concluded that E10 -friendly vehicles have no adverse effects from the use of E20 fuel.
