Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting looked quite unhappy after seeing Shubman Gill’s captaincy in the fourth Test match against England. He believes that Shubman should not have given a new ball to Anshul Kamboj. Ricky Ponting questioned Shubman Gill’s strategy and said that Shubman made a lot of mistakes especially in bowling options and field placements.

On the second day of the Manchester Test against India, the top order of England made a brilliant start, dominating the Indian invasion. Ben Docket scored 94 and Jack Crolya scored 84 runs and by the end of the second day’s play, England have scored 225 runs losing 2 wickets and he is just 133 runs away from India’s first innings score. In such a situation, Ponting believes that the Indian captain defaulted some important strategic decisions which gave England an edge.

Talking on Sky Sports, Ponting said, “I think he also missed strategically. Kamboj should not have taken a new ball. I did not like this from the beginning. Five of the first six fours of the docket were behind the square leg, so he was strategically wrong. I feel that most of the wickets are bowling from the wrong flesh and they feel that the wickets are falling from the stagnation. Most of the work is done by bowling from Anderson ends. “

After two days of play in this Test match, the Indian team seems to be lagging behind and now the eyes of the fans are on the third day. The Indian team would like to take some wickets in the first session on the third day and return to the match, but if they fail to do so, then not only will this Test match be removed from India’s hand but they will also lose the series before the fifth Test.
