Rinku Singh involved in gruelling net session ahead of first T20I vs Australia – See Pics

New Delhi: Ahead of the first T20 match against Australia on Thursday, batter Rinku Singh was seen sweating it out in the nets a day earlier on Wednesday. India will take on Australia in a five-match T20I series starting from November 23. A young India side would be led by Suryakumar Yadav and will feature a young brigade mostly consisting of the debutants this year. India would be aiming to start off with a win after suffering a heartbreak against Australia in the World Cup final.

As the team gears up for the mega clash, Rinku was seen involved in a gruelling training session and he took to his social media site Instagram to share photos of his intense practice session. The first match of the series will be held in Visakhapatnam. Rinku Singh, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League made his debut for India against Ireland and smashed 75 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 208.33 in two matches. Rinku was also a member of India’s Asian Games title squad in China.

Young Indian brigade

The young Indian side will be led by Suryakumar while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the vice-captain of the team. The other members who will feature in the squad are Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh. Jitesh Sharma will take the responsibility behind the stumps in absence of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. The other players who have been named in the squad are Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will unlikely feature in the T20 Internationals from now on as he wants to concentrate on ODIs and the Test matches.

While the first T20 will take place in Vizag, the second match will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on November 26 followed by the third match on November 28 in Guwahati. The fourth match will take place on December 1 in Raipur while the fifth and final match will take place on December 3 in Bengaluru.
