Rishabh Pant got a big blow after scoring 2 centuries in the first Test, ICC reprimanded this
India vs england 1st Test: Indian wicketkeeper batsman has been officially reprimanded for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third day of the first Test against England at Headingley on Sunday.
Pant was convicted of violation of Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and players support staff, which is associated with “showing dissatisfaction on the umpire’s decision during the international match”.
Due to this, a demerit point has been added to Pant’s disciplinary records. This is Pant’s first crime in the last 24 months.
The incident took place at the end of the 61st over of England’s first innings, when the umpires examined the shape of the ball from the ball gauge and decided not to make any changes in it. Pant, disagreeing on the decision of the umpires, threw the ball on the ground in front of the umpires.
Pant accepted the crime and accepted the penalty proposed by match referee Richie Richardson, so there was no need for a formal hearing. Explain that the minimum penalty for level 1 violation is official reprimand, 50 percent of the match fee of the player and one or two demerit points.
Let us know that Pant’s performance in the first Test against England was excellent and he scored centuries in both innings.
Pant scored 134 runs in 178 balls in the first innings and 118 runs in 140 balls in the second innings. He has scored a total of 252 runs in this match, which is the highest run by a wicketkeeper in a Test on England soil. He has become the first wicketkeeper batsman in the world, who has scored centuries in both innings of a Test.
