Rishabh Pant’s finger blows to India; Out from the field, Dhruv Jurlel took wicketkeeping
Rishabh Pant Injury: Team India suffered a major setback on the first day of Lord’s Test. Wicketkeeper-batsman and vice-captain Rishabh Pant suffered a hand injury during fielding, after which he had to leave the ground. At present, Dhruv Jurlel has been given the responsibility of wicketkeeping. Hopefully, Pant will recover soon and return to the field again.
The third match of the five -Test series between India and England is being played at Lord’s from Thursday, July 10 and the Indian team has suffered a major setback. In the second session on the first day of the third Test, when England’s innings was in the 34th over, a ball from Jasprit Bumrah was going towards the leg side which Oli Pope tried to play, but he missed. The ball went directly towards wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who tried to stop him by diving.
During this time, the ball hit the fingers of his left hand fast, due to which Pant was seen in a lot of pain. Physio was immediately called on the ground, which sprayed and the fingers of Pant were tied with a heavy bandage. Although Pant completed the over, after that he went out of the field so that he could get more treatment. He was replaced by young wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurael, who has taken over the responsibility of keeping.
Now it has to be seen how long Rishabh Pant stays out of the field. However, in the first session of the first day of the Lord’s Test before the injury, Pant caught Ben Docket on the third ball of the 13th over of England’s first innings, after which the last ball of the same over also caught a brilliant catch of Zack Croly.
Pant also achieved a special achievement in Test history as soon as he caught this catch of Croly, scoring 18 runs. He has now become the most caught Asian wicketkeeper in Test cricket in England.
Pant has completed 40 catches in 12 Tests played in England so far. In this list, Kamran Akmal of Pakistan is second with 39 catches in 9 Tests and India’s MS Dhoni is third with 36 catches in 12 Tests.
