Chikodi (Karnataka), November 15 (IANS). There was a traffic jam for hours on the national highway passing through Stavnidhi Ghat in Nipani town of Chikodi following a horrific road accident. The accident occurred due to a collision between multiple vehicles. One person died while several were injured in the accident.
The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Narayan Nagu Parwalkar, resident of Jamboti, Khanpur.
Reshma Kudthurkar, 45, and Shankar Parwalkar, 28, of Jamboti were seriously injured in the accident. The injured were immediately admitted to Belgaum Hospital. Additionally, 15 people suffered minor injuries.
Due to the incident, mourning has spread at the house of deceased Narayan Nagu Parwalkar.
According to the police who reached the spot, the accident was caused by an uncontrolled truck. She was going to Mumbai. The truck hit the jeep. After the collision with the jeep, two cars and a two-wheeler collided with each other on the other side of the road. Narayan Parwalkar died in a sudden accident.
It is being told that he and others were going from Jamboti to Mahalakshmi Devi and Jyotiba temple in Kolhapur.
Nipani police have registered the case and started investigation. Due to the queue of vehicles on the road, police and administration people are busy restoring it.
A video of the incident is going viral. In this video, a truck is seen overturned under the road. Some other vehicles are also seen overturned. Many cars have also collided with each other.
