Hyderabad: There has been a huge uproar over a bulldozer action at a temple in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. BJP leader Madhavi Lata, who was protesting against the demolition of the 100 -year -old Gram Devta temple allegedly by the administration in Banjara Hills area, was taken into custody by the police. BJP and Hindu organizations have seriously accused the Congress’s Revanth Reddy government of breaking the temple. The case is on Thursday, when the administration demolished the temple on government land in Banjara Hills in the dark of night. The BJP claims that the temple was 100 years old and the center of faith of the local people.
Local people performed peacefully
The tension in the area increased as the news of the temple being demolished. Local people and BJP workers took to the streets and started a peaceful demonstration. BJP leader Madhavi Lata also participated in this demonstration. Madhavi Lata said during the protest, ‘The state government has dismissed the feelings of crores of Hindus by breaking the temple. I was protesting peacefully, but the police took me into custody. Hindus are not safe in Telangana, the government is torturing Hindus. Madhavi Lata continued to chant while taking custody. He demanded that the temple be rebuilt and strict action should be taken against those responsible for this action.
BJP criticized Reddy Government
Explain that a heavy police force was deployed to control the demonstration. The BJP has strongly criticized the Revanth Reddy government for this incident and described it as an attack on Hindu religious places. Let me tell you that Madhavi Lata was a candidate against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in the 2024 election from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, and had to face defeat in elections.
