Raksha Bandhan rules (what to do):

1. Take care of purity: Before tying the rakhi, both brother and sister should bathe and wear clean and new clothes. Clean the place where the rakhi is tied.

2. Prepare the plate of worship: Keep roli, akshat (whole rice), lamp, rakhi, sweets and some money in a plate. Burning lamps communicates positive energy.
