Job abroad There is good news for the youth looking for. India’s friend Russia will give jobs to 10 lakh Indians in their country this year. A veteran businessman from Russia said that Russia will give around 1 million skilled workforce (trained personnel) a chance to work here by the end of this year to overcome the shortage of workers in its industrial areas. Andrei Besin, head of the Russian Industry Board ‘Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry’, in a conversation with news agency Rosbigation Consulting (RBC), informed about the plans to get skilled workers from India. Besin said that as far as I know, 10 lakh experts from India will come to Russia by the end of the year. These include Russia’s Swardlovsk region. A new Consul General is opening in Yakaterinburgh to look into matters related to this.

Lack of skilled workforce will be overcome

In view of the huge shortage of skilled workers in Russia’s Swardlovsk region, the demand for professionals from India is now increasing rapidly. The region contains a plurality of heavy industry and military-industrial complexes, including world famous Uralmash and T-90 tank manufacturers such as Ural Wagon Javod. Besin, a senior Sveardlovsk official, said that the arrival of Indian workers will help industrial units to increase their production. He said that one of the major reasons for the lack of efficient workforce is that some workers are deployed in the military operations in Ukraine, while the interest of Russian youth in industrial work is also decreasing.

Besin said that Russia is considering calling workers from countries like Sri Lanka and North Korea to solve this problem. However, he admitted that this is a complex process. Significantly, since 2024, the influx of workers in Russian areas from India has started. The Indian workers were first invited by the fish processing unit ‘Ja Roginu’ in Calinigrad.

31 lakh workforce decrease estimated

According to the RBC news agency report, the Russian Labor Ministry has estimated a shortage of 31 lakh people in the workforce by 2030. It has proposed to increase the quota of qualified foreign workers from 1.5 times to 2.3 lakh people in 2025. The Russian Labor Ministry estimates that Russian industrial enterprises attracted 47,000 qualified migrants from non-nation in 2024. The Ministry of Economic Development has also asked other countries to increase the scope of attracting workers. However, after the terrorist attack in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall on March 22 last year, Russian officials tightened the migration law to prevent the arrival of migrants from former Soviet republics.
