Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov
Moscow: Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov has once again said a lot about the relations between India and China. On Thursday, Lavarov has shown interest in re-activating the Russia-India structure. The Russian Foreign Minister said that Russia is a strong supporter of this thinking and nature that all three countries should move forward together. Lavarov said this during an international conference based on safety and cooperation in Eurasia (Europe and Asia) in the city of Parm, Russia.
On whose initiative is Ric?
Quoting Russia’s official agency TASS, Lavrov said that I want to confirm Moscow’s real interest in resumption of work within the Russian-India format of Tripartitly Russia-India. RIC was established several years ago on the initiative of former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeni Prima Kov. Lavrov said that so far this group has held more than 20 ministerial meetings not only at the level of foreign ministers, but also at the level of other economic, trade and financial agencies of the three countries.

External Affairs Minister Lavarov, while emphasizing this, said that an understanding has been made on how to make the situation on the border easier between India and China. He said that therefore the time has come to activate Ric again. He also said that NATO is trying openly to implicate India in anti -China conspiracy. He said, ‘I have no doubt that India understands this and sees it as a big excitement. I am saying this on the basis of confidential conversation with him.
What incident deteriorated India-China relations?
Let me tell you that in June 2020, RIC’s conversation had stopped since the conflict between soldiers in the Galwan Valley between India and China. This was followed by a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia in October 2024, in which the two leaders emphasized the need to improve mutual relations. After the meeting of PM Modi and Jinping, there is definitely a change in relationships.
