Russia strongly condemned the attack by the US on three nuclear bases of Iran. Russia termed this action as irresponsible, saying that it is a severe violation of international law, United Nations Declaration and United Nations Security Council proposals. Without naming the US, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that it is particularly worrying that the attack was carried out by a country that is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Will Putin talk to Trump?
Russia described this attack as a serious threat to regional stability and safety and urged all sides to persevere and reduce stress. Russia has said that President Vladimir Putin has no immediate plan to call American counterpart Donald Trump. When asked about this, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said, “There is no such plan.” However, he also added that the phone calls can be arranged immediately if needed.
America warning after attack
The US has attacked Iran’s Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear sites, which aims to destroy the country’s nuclear program. The attack took place on Saturday-Sunday, when the US bombed these nuclear sites in Iran in support of Israel. US President Donald Trump has warned that more attacks will be carried out if Iran retaliates.
“Trump’s attack had no basis or justification”
Russian Parliament Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, MP Leonid Sltski believes that there was no basis or justification for Trump’s attack on Iran from a military point of view. Sltski told reporters that Trump has been dragged into the scenario of change of governance in Tehran like Iraq.
Will Iran continue nuclear program?
Former Russian President Dimitri Medvedev said that Iran will continue its nuclear program, as he believes that its important structure has not been paralyzed by the US attacks. The Deputy Chief of the National Security Council Medvedev wrote on his Telegram Channel, “What the Americans have achieved by attacking three sites in Iran? It seems that the important infrastructure of the nuclear cycle has not been affected at all or has been very low.” (input language)
