Ryan Parag made captain for ODI series against Namibia, will take command in the historic series
Riyan Parag has been made the captain of the Assam team for the five ODI series against Namibia. The series will be played at Windhok’s FNB Cricket Ground from 21 June. This historic series can prove to be an important for both teams, as it will give emerging talent an opportunity to compete on the international stage.
In IPL 2025, Parag scored 393 runs for Rajasthan Royals at a strict rate of 166.53. This season, he also captained the Rajasthan team in many matches in the absence of Sanju Samson.
The Assam team selected for this series against Namibia has a mixture of experienced and young players. Danish Das, Akash Sengupta, and Parvez Musarf have got a place in the team due to brilliant performance in domestic cricket.
At the same time, the Namibia team will be captained by veteran Gerahad Erasmus. The team also includes players like JJ Smit and Jan Nicol Lofty-Eaton. Namibia has earlier hosted the series against Indian domestic powerful teams like Punjab and Karnataka. The upcoming series against Assam will continue their tendency to join high quality limited overs matches with Indian teams.
