Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) announced a 16 -member team for the two -match Test series against New Zealand on Monday, 21 July. Bulavio’s Queens Sports Club will host both Test matches of this series. The first Test will be played from July 30, while the second and last Test will be played from August 7.

Many important changes have been made in this team. After recovering from a hand injury, English-Zimbabweon batsman Ben Curren returned to the previous series played against South Africa. Apart from this, Sikander Raza, Roy Kaiya and Tanunurva Makoni are also returning to the Test team. At the same time, Takudzwana Katano, Prince Masware, Vesli Madhivere and Kundai Matigim have been dropped from the team.

Young batsman Brian Bennett has also returned to the team. He had to be ruled out due to conversion during the series against South Africa. After his return, Donon Myers had to be ruled out of the team. Zimbabwe’s team is trying to return after a recent whitewash defeat from South Africa at home ground.

Craig Ervin (Captain), Brian Bennett, Tanaka Chivanga, Ben Karan, Trevor Gwandu, Roy Kay, Tanunurva Makoni, Cliva Madande, Vincent Madekesa, Tafadzwa Tasiga, Nicolas Welch, Scene Williams, Wellington Masakadza, Blacing Muhumi and Sastar Raza.

Currently, Zimbabwe’s team is playing a T20 TRAI-Nation Series with New Zealand and South Africa, where the hosts have not been able to open the victory account yet and on Sunday, South Africa defeated them by seven wickets and dropped them out of the tournament.
