Sales of trains in the first quarter of financial year 2025-26, in two-wheelers segment
Automobile Sales Data: The data of vehicles sold in the first quarter of FY 2025-26 has arrived. In the first quarter of the current financial year 2025-26 in the country, the sales of domestic passenger vehicles declined by 1.4 percent to 10,11,882 units on an annual basis. The figure was 10,26,006 units in the first quarter of the last financial year 2024-25 (April-June). According to data released on Tuesday by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the organization of automobile manufacturers, the sales of total two-wheelers in the April-June quarter also declined by 6.2 percent to 46,74,562 units, while it was 49,85,631 units in the same period.
Moderate decline in sale of commercial vehicles
Commercial trains sales fell 0.6 percent to 2,23,215 units in the April-June quarter, which was 2,24,575 units in the same quarter of the previous financial year. According to SIAM, the sale of three-wheelers in the first quarter of FY 2025-26 remained almost stable at 1,65,081 units. Siyam Director General Rajesh Menon said, “Sales of passenger vehicles declined by 1.4 percent on an annual basis in the first quarter of 2025-26 and it was 10.1 lakh units.” Siam said that the second time in the last two years, the second time in the first quarter has crossed the 10 lakh mark.
Neighboring country markets like Sri Lanka and Nepal improvement
SIAM President Shailesh Chandra said, “The performance of the automobile industry was relatively flat. However, the retail registration of passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and two-wheelers vehicles was marginally higher than in the previous quarter. ”Siam said that export growth in this sector was mostly stable demand in markets and strong performances in West Asia and Latin America. Improvement in neighboring markets like Sri Lanka and Nepal, increasing demand from Japan and increasing exports with countries such as Australia also contributed to the overall growth.
