Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, accused of murder of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan jail and a close associate of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Lahore on Sunday. Official sources gave this information.
Sources said Tamba was attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants in Islampura area of Lahore in Pakistan and he was taken to a hospital in a critical condition, where he died. Singh (49) died of a heart attack at Lahore's Jinnah Hospital on the morning of May 2, 2013, days after he was brutally attacked by other inmates, including Tamba, inside the high-security Kot Lakhpat jail.

After the attack, Singh remained unconscious for about a week. Tamba was born in 1979 in Lahore and is a close associate of the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba. A group of Pakistani prisoners attacked Singh with bricks and iron rods. Singh was allegedly found guilty of involvement in several bomb blasts in Pakistan's Punjab province in 1990 and was sentenced to death.
