Bahraich. Rinku alias Sarfaraz Khan and Talib, the accused who shot at Ram Gopal Mishra during Durga idol immersion in Bahraich, UP, have been shot by the police in an encounter. He was shot in the leg. Medical college is being brought. ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash says that there is no information about casualties yet but the police has arrested five accused. Two were shot in the encounter.
According to the information, the accused were planning to flee to Nepal. As soon as the information was received, Bahraich Police surrounded the accused near Handa Basehari Canal in Nanpara Kotwali area. The accused started firing at the police. In retaliation, Sarfaraz and Talib were shot. Police have also arrested Sarfaraz’s brother Faheem, father Abdul Hameed and one other. Rukhsar, daughter of the main accused Abdul Hameed, issued a statement this morning saying that my father Abdul Hameed, my two brothers Sarfaraz, Faheem and another youth along with them have been picked up by STF. My husband and brother-in-law have been picked up earlier. No news is available about him from any police station. We fear that he may be encountered and killed.

After this, he was collecting the flag when he was shot from a distance. Police have named six people including Abdul Hamida, his two sons in the murder of Ram Gopal.
