The hearing is going on in the Supreme Court in Bihar SIR i.e. Special Voter List revision work case. During the hearing, the petitioners’ counsel Nizam Pasha argued in the court and said that despite submitting the form, people are not being included in this list. The names of 231 people have been removed from only one booth, which were in the 2003 voter list. During the hearing of the case, Justice Bagchi said that we welcome the petitioners to give the list so that things can be improved. Bihar was introduced as if it is a poor state and there is nothing digital here. There is flood everywhere, no certificate is available. It was shown as if it is living in the dark era. Election Commission will release data
Justice Suryakant said during the hearing of the case that Bihar and other states have poor population. This is a reality. Rural areas will take time. During this time, the Supreme Court said why the names of 65 lakh voters whose names have been removed, their names were not made public. The Supreme Court said that this data should be made public. In response to which the Election Commission said that it is fine, if this order of the court is, then it will make this data public. During this, Justice Kant said that 22 lakh people have been found dead, so why are their names not being told.
Next hearing will be held on 22 August
During this time, the Supreme Court directed the Election Commission on the Bihar SIR case to make the data of 65 lakh people public on the district level website by Tuesday. Also, the court has said the reason for their removal. The court said that booth level officials will also display the list of removed voters. Please tell that the next hearing in this case will now be held on 22 August. The Supreme Court said during this time that the Election Commission should clearly show the names of the voters who have been dead, transferred or removed due to other reasons and put the information in the public domain.
