SCO joint statement- Rajnath’s sign, Jaishankar’s support
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday supported Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s refusal to signed a joint statement of Shanghai Co-Operation Organization (SCO).
Jaishankar said in a conversation with the news agency ANI, ‘A country of SCO wanted that there was no mention of terrorism in a joint statement. Who is that country, you can guess. Whereas this organization itself was formed with the aim of fighting terrorism.
Jaishankar said, India’s move was not only a diplomatic opposition, but a symbol of protecting national security and principles. Terrorism and peace cannot run together.
Jaishankar said- a family above the nation, then emergency
Jaishankar attended an event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Delhi on Friday. During this, he also targeted the Congress over the Emergency.
Jaishankar said- all this happened because of a family. There is a film called ‘Kissa Kursi’, and these three words explain the reason behind applying emergency. When a family is considered above the nation, there are things like emergency.
Now know what is the controversy related to statement in SCO…
A meeting of Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Kingdao, China on Thursday. India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif attended both. However, Rajnath Singh did not meet the Pakistani Defense Minister.
He also refused to sign SCO’s joint statement. Because it did not include a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, while Pakistan’s terrorist incident in Balochistan was mentioned. India expressed displeasure with this.
Rajnath Singh said in the meeting, ‘Some countries consider terrorism across the border as their policy. They give shelter to terrorists. Then deny it. There should be no place for such double standard. They have to understand that now the episoders of terrorism are not safe.
