Tyanjin: During the conference of the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in China, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli raised the issue of disputed Lipulekh Pass in front of President Xi Jinping, but he was disappointed. Jinping completely ignored Oli’s issue. Please tell that K.P. Sharma Oli objected to the agreement to use Lipulekh as a trade route between India and China as a trade route during a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday.
Nepal claims India’s share
Nepal claims the land of India Lipule. However, every time India has rejected its claim outright. India says that this claim of Nepal is neither appropriate nor based on historical facts and evidence. India has always said that Lipulekh is a part of India.
India-China will trade through lipule
Recently, during the visit of China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi to New Delhi, India and China agreed to trade through Lipulekh Pass. Nepal objected to this. Now during the SCO Summit in Taenzin, Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli raised the issue before Jinping. But they did not get any sense. In a statement issued by Nepal Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai quoted as saying, “Prime Minister Oli clearly objected to the agreement to use Lipulekh as a trade route between India and China.”
China did not give preference to Nepal
China did not give any preference to the issue of Lipulekh raised by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli nor has the issue mentioned in the official statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry. China has not responded to Oli’s objections. This has shocked KP Oli’s expectations. During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to further strengthen Nepal-China bilateral relations and cooperation. The meeting took place with President Xi Jinping at the guest house of Tienjin. (Language)
