The price of second hand cars in Delhi has come down by up to 50%. This decline is due to the ban on old cars in the national capital. Nearly 60 lakh vehicles have been affected by changing the decision on old vehicles. 15 years for petrol vehicles in Delhi and for diesel vehicles have been fixed. Industry organization CTI said that the prices of old trains have fallen by 40 to 50 percent. Old cars from Delhi are usually sold in Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. However, there is an aggressive bargaining with demand from outside states.

What comes trouble

Traders are also having trouble taking NOC (NOC). This certificate is necessary when old trains from Delhi have to be transferred to another state. Earlier this process was easy, but now it has increased delays and technical hurdles. Overall, restrictions on old vehicles have put Delhi’s second hand car market in serious crisis. Businessmen are expecting relief from the government so that they can get some relief from the damage being done.

The ban on older vehicles implemented from July 1 in Delhi has been temporarily postponed. This decision has been taken by the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) after the letter of Environment Minister. However, this relief is at the moment, as the ban on the End of Life (EOL) vehicles is still not completely over. Even after this decision, there is confusion about the future of seized vehicles.
