Sukma. Security forces have killed 10 Naxalites in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. The bodies of all and 3 automatic weapons have been recovered from the spot. DRF and CRPF had an encounter with Naxalites of Konta and Kistaram Area Committee in the forest of Dantespuram, Korajuguda, Nagaram of Bhejji. Searching is going on in the area. This year, from January 1 to November 22, 207 Naxalites have been killed.
Bastar IG Sundaraj P said that AK-47, INSAS and SLR and other weapons were also recovered in this encounter. Sukma SP Kiran Chavan called it a big success. The soldiers are on the spot. Security forces had received news that there was a gathering of Naxalites in Bhejji forest. After this the soldiers were dispatched. Where there was an encounter with Naxalites.
A day earlier, a large number of Naxalites had entered Chhattisgarh border through Odisha. During this period there was also an encounter with Odisha Police. In this a Naxalite was killed and a soldier was injured. After this Chhattisgarh Force was on alert. A police-Naxalite encounter had taken place a day before in the Udanti Sanctuary forest adjacent to Odisha and Gariaband.
On information about the presence of Naxalites, Gariaband police launched a joint search operation. About 200 soldiers of Gariaband DRG Cobra 207 battalion, Odisha SOG, CRPF 211 and 65 battalion were involved in this operation. As soon as the Naxalites reached the forests of Amad, they started firing. The soldiers also gave a befitting reply. Seeing the pressure building, the Naxalites ran away. Police have seized a single shot rifle, Naxalite literature, a large quantity of warm clothes and items of daily use from the Naxalite hideout.
On the encounter, CM Shri Sai said that the soldiers have got great success in Sukma. The government is working on a policy of zero tolerance towards Naxalism. Ensuring development, peace and security of citizens in Bastar is the top priority of his government. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma said that the soldiers are continuously achieving success on the Naxal front by showing indomitable courage and bravery. Now Maoism is counting its last breaths in Bastar. Sharma said that there is an appeal to the Naxalites to give up violence and join the mainstream of society.
