Shai Hope scored history by scoring a century against Australia, became the second cricketer of West Indies to do so after Chris Gayle

West Indies vs Australia 3rd T20I: West Indies captain and wicketkeeper batsman Shai Hope (July 26) batted brilliantly in the third T20 International played at Warner Park on Saturday (July 26), scoring a wonder of 178.95 in 57 balls, in which he scored an unbeaten 102 run innings, in which he scored 8 fours and 6 sixes. This is the first century of Hope’s T20 International career.

Hope has become the second player of the West Indies to score a century in all three formats of international cricket. He has 17 centuries in ODIs and 2 centuries in Tests. Earlier, veteran batsman Chris Gayle did this feat for the West Indies.

Apart from this, he is the fifth West Indies batsman, who has scored a century in this format. Earlier, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Johnson Charles and Rowman Powell are included in this list.

However, despite Hope’s century, West Indies suffered a crushing defeat by 6 wickets.

After receiving the first batting, the West Indies scored 214 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in the prescribed 20 overs. Apart from Hope, Brendon King scored 62 runs in 36 balls. The two together shared a 125 -run partnership for the first wicket.

In response, Australia won by scoring 215 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 16.1 overs. With this, Australia has gained 3–0 in the five-match series.

For Australia, David played an unbeaten 102 -run innings in 37 balls, hitting 11 sixes and 6 fours.
