The Indian cricket team is going to be announced soon for the upcoming England tour. After the announcement of Rohit Sharma’s retirement Indian team The new Test captain is about to get but at the same time many more players may return on this tour. Fast bowling all -rounder Shardul Thakur may join the team on the upcoming England tour after being out of the Test team for about 18 months.

Thakur’s red ball form for Mumbai during the domestic season, India’s fourth pace during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, his return is almost fixed before the tour of England. In such a situation, Thakur will play a lead role in preparing a powerful pace attack with Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj and famous Krishna.

Thakur was not bought by any team in the IPL mega auction 2025 but in the middle of the IPL, he was included in his team by Lucknow Super Giants and he mesmerized every Kis with his bowling in the first few matches but he could not do anything special in some later matches, due to which he was dropped.

Not only this, Thakur surprisingly withdrew the name from the county contract for Essex due to selection in the IPL. According to Cricbuzz report, Thakur’s return is certain, but this cannot be said about Shreyas Iyer. Iyer has proved his utility by winning the Ranji Trophy, Iranian Cup, IPL, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Champions Trophy in the last 15 months. He has got back the central contract due to his brilliant performance, but despite this, his selection for the tour of England seems difficult.

His place in the team for the tour of England will depend mainly on which side Virat Kohli’s air flows. If Kohli decides to stop, Iyer may have to wait for his Test return, but if the former captain of India is adamant on his decision to retire, this Mumbai batsman has a chance to return to the red ball team.
