Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina
PTI, Dhaka. Today is a very important day for Bangladesh’s deployed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal will formal hearing on the allegations against Sheikh Hasina on Sunday, in which she can be sentenced to death. The government BTB of Bangladesh has been allowed to broadcast the entire hearing live. In this way, this will be the first time in the history of Bangladesh when the whole country can see the whole country live.
Hasina can be heard sentenced to death
Let me tell you that after a huge agitation of students in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina was overthrown on August 5 last year, after which she left the country and came to India. Several cases have been filed against Sheikh Hasina in various courts in Bangladesh, which was heard. But photography or broadcast of his hearing was not allowed. The decision to allow the live broadcast of ICT-BD to allow this tradition to break in case of Hasina and can be sentenced to death today.
Tribunal will be heard, charges will be submitted
Bangladesh’s government media said, “The prosecution will submit a formal allegation against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in ICT-BD on Sunday in a case related to crimes against humanity during the July-August, 2024 public discrimination.” ICT-BD chief prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said that the allegations against former Home Minister Asdujman Khan Kamal and former police chief Abdullah Al Mamoon will also be heard at the same time, both are currently in jail.
In fact, local BNP leader Tariqul Islam was assassinated on 22 May in a dispute in Dahramsahati village in Jaisore district. The houses of the Hindu community living there were targeted after the murder. The victims say they were tortured without reason.
