Weather Update: The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) provides information on temperature, humidity, wind speed, and other meteorological characteristics. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that today will likely see quite widespread rainfall with sporadic heavy showers over Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Light rain or snowfall in isolated areas is anticipated over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffaraba till November 2 due to the weak Western Disturbance. It’s expected to snow and lightly rain in several regions of Himachal Pradesh in the beginning of November.
Rainfall and lightning in these areas
There is a high probability of isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) over Lakshadweep, as well as isolated thunderstorms with lightning across Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Meanwhile, till November 2, there is a chance of light rain or snowfall in isolated areas over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffaraba due to the weak Western Disturbance. Rainfall is predicted in a number of southern Indian regions due to the influence of strong Easterly/Northeasterly winds that move from the Bay of Bengal to the South Peninsular India at lower tropospheric levels.
