Shikhar Pahadia reacted on Hindi-Marathi language dispute, said- cannot keep any language alive due to fear
The Marathi language dispute in Maharashtra has taken a big form. Jahnavi Kapoor’s boyfriend Shikhar Pahadia has expressed his opinion on the increasing tension between Hindi and Marathi. When some political party workers in Mumbai and Pune are taking violent steps against those who do not speak Marathi, Shikhar said in a post that no language can be kept alive through fear.
He wrote, Asmita means our identity and self -respect, we should add, not to break. This should make us feel proud, not proud or discrimination. We should be from any corner of India, speak any language, our identity connects us. Marathi Asmita is also real, very deep and associated with our lives.
Shikhar said that it is necessary to save every language, but no honor should be hurt for this. I am from Solapur myself, so I understand this very well. Language makes us. This made our states, our stories. This has given us poets, songs and revolutions.
He said, Marathi is also part of it. It is necessary to handle, save and pursue it. But this pride should not be done by insulting others. Especially those who are working hard honestly.
Referring to the migrants, Shikhar said, “Many people go to other cities in search of work. Marathi speakers also go to Delhi, Kolkata or Chennai. Think, how will we feel if people are working away from their family if they are working away from their family, then people are wrong to impose language. It is to think that Marathi is in danger. We cannot keep any language alive with fear.
In the end, he said, Mumbai, Maharashtra and India belong to all those who live with respect, work honestly and talk with humility, no matter what language they speak. Our Marathi identity will shine by adopting and connecting people. If you want to save Marathi, then celebrate it, do not make weapons.
