Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra are once again trapped in difficulty. Shilpa and Raj have been accused of fraud of Rs 60 crore by a Mumbai businessman. A case has been registered against both of them on the basis of fraud and forgery at Juhu police station.

The case is now related to investment deal for the closed best deal TV Private Limited. Businessman Deepak Kothari said that a person named Rajesh Arya introduced him to Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, who was the director of home shopping and online retail platform Best Deal Private Limited.

He said, at that time Shilpa and Raj had 87.6 percent shares of the company. Arya had sought a loan of Rs 75 crore for the company at a 12% annual interest, but to avoid high taxes, he suggested that he put this amount as investment.

Kothari said, there was a meeting and the deal with the promise was decided that the money would be returned on time. Deepak Kothari transferred the first installment of about Rs 31.95 crore in April 2015. But the issue of tax remained and a second deal took place in September. He transferred Rs 28.54 crore between July 2015 and March 2016.

Overall, he transferred an amount of more than Rs 60.48 crore for the deal, as well as a stamp fee of Rs 3.19 lakh. Deepak Kothari claimed that Shilpa Shetty also gave him a personally guarantee in April 2016. But a few months later, in September, he resigned as the director of the company.

Kothari later came to know that the banks of bankruptcy were going on in 2017 due to missing another agreement. His repeated requests for money were not paid any attention. At present, the entire case is under investigation.
