Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar again clarified on Tuesday amid controversy over the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) prayer Vandana singing. He said- ‘I tried to draw his (BJP) leg. Some of my friends are trying to spread confusion by political misuse. ‘

Shivkumar said- ‘I am a born Congressman and I will die as a Congressman. The Congress cannot raise any question on my honesty towards the party and the Gandhi family. If the Congressmen and the India block is hurt by my comment, I am sad. I want to apologize the most. ‘

In fact, DK Shivkumar sang some lines of RSS’s prayer song ‘Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrabhaumay’ inside the assembly on 21 August. After this, the speculation of his conflict with the Congress was intensified. It was being said that he could join BJP anytime.

The Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede (June 4) was being discussed in the Karnataka Assembly on 21 August. During this, BJP MLA R Ashok in the assembly pointed to Shivkumar and said that the Karnataka government should take responsibility for RCB stampede.

On this, Deputy CM Shivkumar said that he knows everything about BJP’s moves. He then sang 2 lines of RSS’s prayer ‘Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrubhe’ during a debate with the BJP MLA. During this time, the opposition along with the Congress camp was shocked. This video of Shivkumar also went viral on social media.

Shivkumar said the next day- I am a born Congressman
Shivkumar gave his clarification on the matter on 22 August. When asked outside the assembly, when asked if there was some kind of sign of reading RSS Vandana in the assembly, he said that I am a congenital Congressman. My blood is my life, everything is in Congress. I will lead the Congress with full force.

In the Karnataka Assembly, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday responded to the Bengaluru stampede and said that such incidents have happened not only in Karnataka, but in the country and the world many times. In the last 10 years, there have been 20 stampede in BJP ruled states.
