Shoaib Akhtar flew away the Pakistani team, said- ‘Everyone is playing for average’
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has reprimanded the Pakistani team after the defeat in the ODI series against the West Indies. He also lashed out at the senior players and said that the players are playing for their average. This defeat was Pakistan’s first bilateral series defeat against the West Indies in 34 years, after which there is a lot of disappointment among his fans and cricket experts.
In this entire ODI series, players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan flopped. Azam, who was once considered the next big player of Pakistan cricket, has not scored an international century against any full member team for almost three years. Captain Rizwan has also not been able to leave any significant impression and perform only in pieces. This is the reason that Akhtar has come forward and reprimanded the Pakistani team.
Speaking on the show, Akhtar said on the show, “We used to have explosive talent and we used to play in the same way. We have never depended on any one player, everyone contributed. Nobody used to find a way to escape. The atmosphere has changed and in the last 10-15 years, everyone has started playing for themselves. Everyone is playing for their average.
Akhtar, while criticizing the Pakistani team strongly, said, “We need to change the intentions and mentality and create the same atmosphere. You have to play according to modern cricket. How difficult it is to understand? If it is a slight seam, then our batsmen find it difficult. We have to understand that we cannot roam everywhere with Rawalpindi pitches.”
