One such actor was Mac Mohan. Born in Karachi before independence, Mohan Makijani aka Mac Mohan came to Mumbai with a dream of becoming a cricketer, but luck pulled him towards acting. First he joined the theater and then entered Bollywood. He acted in about 200 films and made an identity.

When Gabbar asked Mac Mohan in the film, ‘Hey O Sambha, how many men were’ but the answer was ‘Sardar Do’. The memorable dialogue of Sholay which people can also identify in sleep. Mac Mohan started working as an assistant director in the 60s and then tried his hand in acting. He got the most popularity from Sambha’s character in the film ‘Sholay’. He acted in films like ‘Don’, ‘Karj’, ‘Satte Pe Power’, ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Rafu Chakra’, ‘Shaan’, ‘Khoon Sweat’ and ‘Sholay’. Mac Mohan died of lung cancer in 2010. He was last seen in a cameo role in Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Guest Tum Kab Joge’. Mac Mohan may not be in this world today, but his daughters are illuminating their father’s name.

Mac Mohan married Mini in 1986 and has three children. Two daughters Manjari-Vinati and a son Vikrant. Both Mac Mohan’s daughters are known for their best work in the film industry. Both Vinati and Manjari have become a big name in the film world today. Manjari has also made her place in Amy. Writer, director and producer Manjari by profession has made several American and Hindi films. Manjari has got success from ‘Skater Girl’ and ‘Spin’ films. He has also made many short films like ‘The Last Marble’, ‘The Corner Table’ and ‘ICU’. He has also worked as an assistant director in ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’. He has been nominated for the Amy Awards for the film ‘Spin’. Talking about the request, he has worked as a producer and actress in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘My Name Is Khan’, ‘The Corner Table’ and ‘Skater Girl’. She runs a production house called Mac Productions in the name of her father.
