Houston, November 10 (IANS). One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting on Sunday morning on the campus of Tuskegee University in the southern US state of Alabama. The university administration issued a press release and gave this information.
Giving information about this incident, it has been said that the person killed was not a student of the university.
It said, “Many other people, including university students, have also been injured in this shooting at Tuskegee University. The injured are being treated at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.”
Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley said “a number of people” were injured, but did not give the exact number, Xinhua news agency reported.
Tuskegee City Police Chief Mardis said one of the injured was shot in the stomach.
Police have not received any information about arresting anyone in this case. Mardis said it was not yet clear what led to the shooting.
