Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla is scheduled to return to India on Sunday after his historic visit by the International Space Station (ISS). He is eager to share his experiences with friends and colleagues. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is eyeing its first human space flight in 2027. Shukla has been in the US for the last one year and was undergoing training for ISS for the Ex-4 mission. After Shukla arrives here, it is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then go to his hometown Lucknow. It is expected that he will return to the capital to attend the National Space Day celebrations on August 22-23.

Shukla posted a smiling picture of her while sitting in an airplane on Instagram and wrote that he was full of mixed feelings while leaving America and is eager to return to India to share his experiences with everyone. Shukla posted, “Many kinds of feelings are thronging in my heart as soon as I sit in the plane to return to India. I am sad to leave those magnificent people who were my friends and family for the last one year during this mission. I am also excited to meet all my friends, family and all the people of the country for the first time after the mission. I think this is life. ”

Prime Minister Modi while addressing the countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 79th Independence Day said that India is also working on developing its own space station and said that Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has returned from a space mission recently. He said, “Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is back from the space station. He will return to India in the coming days. ”Shubhanshu Shukla went to space on 25 June 2025 under the Ex-4 mission. He stayed 18 days at the International Space Station (ISS) and returned on 15 July. During this time he also did many experiments. Three other astronauts-Pagi Whitson (America), Slavose Uznansky-Visnivsky (Poland) and Tibor Kapu (Hungary) performed several experiments during the 18-day mission.
