Shubman Gill broke the 58 -year -old record of Gary Sobers, new history created as a foreign captain outside the house
Shubman Gill Records: On the first day of the fifth Test being played against England at The Oval, London, Shubman Gill performed an act which was still in the pages of history. India’s Test captain has a foreign captain outside the house Test series The world record of scoring the most runs in it has been named.
Shubman Gill took a special record in the first innings of the Oval Test against England on Thursday, 31 July. Gill needed a run in this Test to break the record of Gary Sobers, and he did this feat with two runs off the sixth ball of the innings.
Now Gill’s name is the world record of scoring the most runs in a Test series as a captain outside the house. He broke the 58 -year -old record of Gary Sobers, who scored 722 runs in England in 1966.
Not only this, Shubman Gill has achieved another major achievement for India. He has also surpassed Sunil Gavaskar in terms of scoring the most runs as captain in a Test series for India. Gavaskar scored 732 runs on a West Indies tour in 1971.
Now if Gill scored 31 runs in this series, then he will also become the highest run -scorer in a Test series between England and India, who is currently the name of former England captain Graham Gooch (752 runs, in 1990).
With Shubman Gill’s bat, this series is constantly becoming historical, and now everyone’s eyes are on whether they will cross the 800 -run mark. If Shubman does this, then as captain in a Test series, Don Bradman (810 runs) will also break as a captain.
