Gary Kirsten Advice to Shubman Gill: A five -match Test series is being played between India and England under Anderson Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Three Test matches have been played so far. After which England is leading 2–1 in this series. Now the fourth Test match between the two teams will be played from 23 July to 27 July at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. Earlier, former Indian coach and Team India, who won the 2011 ODI World Cup of 2011, has given a special advice to the current Test captain Shubman Gill.
This advice of Gary Kirsten to Shubman Gill came at a time when Team India has played three Test matches under his captaincy and two have suffered defeat. After which the former Indian coach has advised Gill to adopt a feature of MS Dhoni.

Significantly, after Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket, 25 -year -old Shubman Gill has been made the new Test captain of India. Under his captaincy, India has played three Test matches so far on the tour of England, one of which has won and two lost. However, his performance as a batsman has been excellent. Gill has scored 607 runs in six innings at an average of 101.16, including an unbeaten innings of 269 runs.
Kirsten gave this advice to Gill
Talking to Rediff.com, Gary Kirsten said, “Shubman Gill has a lot of potential. He is a good thinker of the game and a great batsman. But only these two things are not enough under the captaincy. Man-management is most important in this.” Kirsten further said, “Dhoni was unique in this matter. If Gill could improve himself further in the region, he has all the qualifications to become a great Indian captain.”
Gary Kirsten has worked with Gujarat Titans in IPL for three years with Shubman Gill. He said, “Gill has a good understanding of his sports and technology. It has always been interesting to discuss cricket with him. I have also learned a lot from his game.”
