Siddaramaiah government engaged in convincing angry ASP, DCP’s post offer in Belagavi
Siddaramaiah tries to slap the officer
There is political earthquake in Karnataka these days. There is a fierce battle over the Chief Minister’s chair. Meanwhile, a new controversy has arisen over an old incident of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Actually, a video of the Chief Minister went viral on social media a few days ago. On the stage, he was seen raising his hand to slap a police officer. Now the same police officer has demanded retirement from the government.
Four years left in retirement
ASP Narayan Baramani was hurt after this incident. He felt humiliated and decided that he does not want to do a police job anymore. Narayan Baramani has been serving in the police department for the last 31 years and is still four years left in retirement, but he sent a letter to the government and demanded voluntary retirement (VRS).
Exercise to celebrate the government begins
The demand for voluntary retirement (VRS) of ASP Narayan Baramani has now created a stir in political and administrative corridors. Following the decision of VRS by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Narayan Baramani, the Karnataka government has started an exercise to convince him. If sources are to be believed, on the instructions of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister. God and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil has spoken to Narayan Baramani. He has been offered a post offer of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in his home district Belgavi. However, Narayan is still adamant on his decision to take VRS.
Cleanliness from the government regarding the incident
Home Minister God and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil interacted with Narayan and tried to convince him. Home Minister Parmeshwar said, “There is nothing like that. We have talked to Narayan. We will give him appropriate posting. We have to understand his intentions. Hon’ble Chief Minister had no wrong intention. I and Minister HK Patil have explained this to him. We are sure that he will be convicted and posting will be given soon.” According to sources, the government has proposed to hand over the responsibility of DCP to Narayan in his home district Belgavi, so that his displeasure is removed and he withdraws the decision of VRS.
ASP’s statement on the case
After this, ASP Narayan Baramani, who has now demanded VRS, has reacted to the matter. He said, “I have always been in discipline. I have told my seniors and government my feelings. My senior officer, Chief Minister and Home Minister have talked to me on the matter. I am now reporting on duty to discharge my regular responsibilities.” When asked about his next action plan, he said, “The government will take a decision in this regard.”
