Siddaramaiah’s statement on shifting cricket stadium to another place after Bengaluru stampede

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed grief over the incident after death and injuries in the stampede during the celebration of RCB’s victory in Bengaluru. He insisted that the government has not taken any wrong steps, and legal action is being taken against those found guilty in this case. He also said to consider shifting the stadium to another place to prevent such incidents in future.
Consideration of shifting cricket stadium
Siddaramaiah said, “The government will consider shifting the cricket stadium elsewhere. Such an unpleasant incident should not happen in any government. Personally, this incident has hurt me and the government a lot.” He said that five police officers have been suspended in this case and the Chief Minister’s political secretary has been replaced. The Chief Minister said that the matter has been taken seriously and appropriate action has been taken.
Government did nothing wrong: Chief Minister
He added, “Although the government has not done anything wrong, this incident is tragic. The government has not taken any wrong steps in this matter, and since legal action has been taken against the culprits, there is no question of embarrassment for the government.”

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “Did the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh resign on the death of people during the Kumbh Mela? Did the BJP and JDS demand the resignation of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh?”
“Karnataka Cricket Association invited me”
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also said that he was present in the program only because he was invited and was told that the governors would also attend it. He said, “Secretary and Treasurer of KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association) came and invited me to the program. We did not organize the ceremony, it was done by KSCA.” He further said, “He also told me that the governor was also coming, I was only there. I did not know anything other than that I had gone there only after being invited, he did not invite me to the stadium.”
